Enrolment

Who can sign up?

We welcome any charity, group, team, school, non-profit, or not-for-profit organization.

How do I enroll?

The person who is organizing the fundraiser should complete our enrollment form on behalf of the group.

How quickly can we be set up?

It will take about 1-3 days before your customized ordering site is ready to accept orders.

How long is the ordering period?

You can select the start and end dates of your fundraiser. Depending on your needs, we recommend between one and three weeks.

Is there a cost to set up a fundraiser?

There is no cost to run a fundraiser. Some value-added services can be optionally selected, and their costs are disclosed up-front. They will be deducted from your proceeds. Specifically, you can choose to have the donuts delivered to your door instead of picking them up in Cambridge. The cost of delivery depends on how far you are from the bakery. We are currently offering a free delivery promotion.

Who is DonutFundraiser.ca?

DonutFundraiser.ca is a division of Rodrigues Wholesale Donuts Inc., located in Cambridge Ontario. Rodrigues Wholesale Donuts supplies donuts to businesses for resale all over southern Ontario. We are Canadian-owned and meet the strict "Product of Canada" labelling requirements. We have no retail locations and do not sell directly to the public.

Ordering

How will we accept orders?

You will be given a unique web address, for example, http://dofu.ca/cricket. You will need to share this URL with potential supporters to direct them to the site. To help you spread the word and prevent people from mistyping the address, we will provide promotional images that you can share on social media or e-mail to friends.

Do we need to collect money?

No. Supporters pay by credit card when they order. We collect the money on your behalf.

Can we take cash orders?

If you want to take cash orders, you will need to purchase with a credit card on behalf of those supporters. If you decide to take cash orders, we provide a printable worksheet to help you keep track. We can only fulfill orders placed online with a credit card.

Are the donuts vegan?

All of the donuts except the Munchkins are vegan-friendly.

Do the donuts contain nuts?

The donuts do not contain peanuts or tree nuts; however we do bake with nuts in our facility and we can not prevent cross-contamination.

Are there gluten-free options?

No.

How will we know if our fundraiser is working?

You will be given access to a campaign-monitoring page that details your sales and how much money you have earned. You can monitor this page 24/7.

Are donuts more popular than other fundraisers?

There are pizza fundraisers, and chocolate bar fundraisers, and popcorn fundraisers – so which one works best? Most fundraising companies don’t provide this type of information, and it will be different for every school, team, club or nonprofit that tries. It’s also hard to compare, because many products are still using paper forms and cash. So it’s hard to say. But we can say this:

  • Canadians consume more donuts per capita than any other country in the world. We love donuts.
  • Fundraisers that leverage digital platforms and social media have seen online donating grow over 40% since 2021.
  • You will make more money selling first and buying second. If a fundraiser requires you to guess how much you’ll sell ahead of time, you risk losing money on unsold product, or leaving money on the table if you run out.
Can supporters attribute their purchase to a specific individual, student, or class?

When enrolling your fundraiser, turn "attribution" on. This will add a text field to the checkout page into which supporters can type details of how their support should be attributed. This information will appear on your packing list when you received your donuts.

Delivery

Will the donuts be delivered directly to our supporters?

No. On your scheduled delivery date, all of the donut orders will be delivered to your selected location. You are responsible for picking up the donuts and delivering them to your supporters or arranging for supporters to pick up their orders at your own facility.

How will we distribute the orders correctly?

Each box of donuts is labelled with:

  • Your supporter's name
  • Your supporter's phone number
  • Your supporter's order number
  • The name of your organization
Additionally, you will receive a packing slip with a summary of the same information.

On what days of the week can we schedule our pick-up day?

Pick-up days can be scheduled for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We do not offer pick-ups on Friday or Saturday.

Payment

When will we receive the proceeds from the fundraiser?

Your payment will be sent within 7 days of your delivery date.

How will we be paid?

We will e-transfer the funds or send a cheque, depending on your choice at time of enrollment.
